A |     (ECNS) -- The 10th China International Elderly Care and Health Industry Expo, also known as the EldExpo, concluded in Guangzhou, Guangdong Province on Sunday, with intended cooperation deals exceeding 760 million yuan ($106 million), according to the Guangzhou Civil Affairs Bureau on Monday.        The three-day event brought together 433 leading silver-economy enterprises from 17 countries and regions, attracting 91,000 visitors. On-site transactions reached 13.62 million yuan (about $1.9 million), with 36 industrial cooperation agreements signed.    Nearly 100 high-tech companies in smart elderly care and rehabilitation assistive devices showcased cutting-edge products, including embodied intelligence robots and elderly-care AI agents.    For mobility assistance, non-invasive brain-computer interface smart wheelchairs enabled real-time control through head movement, electrooculography and electroencephalography signals, targeting users with amyotrophic lateral sclerosis. Smart walking-assist robots incorporated automotive-grade autonomous driving capabilities, including obstacle warning, automatic braking and assisted driving functions.    In personal care, fully automatic bathing machines and smart toilet robots addressed two of the most challenging tasks in caring for the bedridden.    For monitoring and companionship, fall-prevention smart rings, AI health monitoring cameras, one-click SOS devices priced at 9.9 yuan (about $1.4), and heart rate and blood oxygen monitors at 59 yuan (about $8.2) were displayed side by side, demonstrating that age-tech is advancing both high-end innovation and affordable solutions.    The 2nd Guangzhou Smart Health Care (Elderly friendly) Equipment Innovation Design Competition also held an exhibition of award-winning works at the expo, including AI moxibustion robots, companion devices and rehabilitation exoskeletons. The exhibition facilitated direct matchmaking between winners and buyers, following a "competition-exhibition-negotiation-implementation" pathway.    (By Tang Yuxian)                    。

B |     (ECNS) -- The "Yangtze Journey Aurora," a new energy hybrid cruise ship, made its maiden voyage from Yichang Port in central China's Hubei Province on Wednesday, entering service on the classic Yichang–Chongqing route along the Yangtze River.    The vessel is among China's first interprovincial cruise ships to feature an extended-range hybrid power system, boasting battery capacities of 2,580 kWh and a cruising range of 1,500 kilometers.        Equipped with DC inverter air-conditioning and secondary energy recovery technology, the ship's air-conditioning system reduces energy consumption by 20%. It also features vibration- and noise-reduction systems as well as environmentally friendly shipbuilding materials, providing passengers with a quieter and lower-carbon cruising experience.    New energy cruises have become one of Yichang's signature tourist attractions. In the first half of 2026, cruise routes in the city welcomed more than 3 million passenger trips.    By promoting the operation of new energy vessels, the Yangtze River's Three Gorges region is reducing carbon emissions from waterborne tourism and supporting the green transformation of the Yangtze shipping industry.    (By Gong Weiwei)                            。
